Hermosa Beach welcomes sunny temperatures in the upper 60’s throughout the spring months, the perfect ambiance for a multitude of outdoor activities. Whether you’re looking for an active outlet or a relaxing one, the city’s natural layout provides easy access to both. Keep reading for some of our top suggestions on how to make the most of your Spring in Hermosa Beach!

Beach

You simply cannot visit Hermosa Beach without experiencing the city’s namesake. This beach is one of the most beautiful in Southern California, boasting almost 2 miles of ocean frontage and sensational sunsets. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the many rental businesses in the beach’s vicinity that provide enhancements like surfboards, paddle boards, boogie boards, and more. H2O Hermosa itself also supplies amenities like umbrellas, chairs, and towels, to amplify your beachside experience. Bring a volleyball to use at the many courts that line the coast, or throw a frisbee along the sand to complete your visit.

the strand

The infamous Strand is a 22 mile long paved walkway that connects Hermosa Beach to its neighboring cities - Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. On any given day, The Strand accommodates everyone, from bikers and runners to skaters and dog-walkers. We highly recommend renting bikes from H2O Hermosa and riding along this peaceful pathway, taking in the breathtaking ocean views on one side, and the prime real estate on the other.

farmer’s market

Hermosa Beach hosts a Farmer’s Market each Friday from noon to 4 p.m. Head out to Valley Drive and 11th Street to shop for some locally grown and organic foods. Enjoy the fresh air and the community atmosphere as you converse with both shoppers and local vendors, and end the day by using your newly purchased ingredients to whip up a delicious dinner.

shopping

Hermosa Beach features some of the trendiest shops and boutiques in the South Bay, and most are located right along its Pier on both Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue. A walk along these streets guarantees shoppers a relaxing experience, and hopefully, a new outfit or keepsake to treasure for years to come.
